Vancouver, located in British Columbia – the westernmost province of Canada – is the 3rd largest city in the country, with a population of just over two million. The city is clean and safe with a cosmopolitan atmosphere and international flavour. Shops and theatres, arts and music festivals, and galleries and museums are abundant.
Infamous for its beautiful nature and scenery, Vancouver touches the Pacific Ocean on its west coast and is backed by mountains on the North. Residents and visitors can easily go sailing, surfing, hiking and skiing all in one day! Of course peak activities differ between the seasons, with beaches and water sports gaining popularity in the summer months, while snow-boarding and tobogganing are the must-dos in the winter months. And yes, there is snow in Vancouver in the winter, and gorgeous sunshine in July and August. The school regularly schedules trips and outings in and around Vancouver, based on the season and reflecting a huge range of activities.
The world famous University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and University of Victoria all lend a strong educational tradition to Vancouver and are within easy access of the school.
