Education is about being active learners in the classroom. I take this philosophy seriously, not only for my students, but for myself as well. I was drawn to teaching by my eagerness to share my knowledge and passion for science. Nonetheless, my teaching philosophy revolves around interpreting the simple yet profound statement: A teacher’s role is to ‘teach students’ first, then to ‘teach a subject’. To me, student success means realizing one’s potential, not just academic potential, but all areas of growth including those related to career, social and personal development. My job of ‘teaching students’ is to motivate and enable each student to reach this goal.
