Since I have been at Bodwell I have watched many people who are now my closest friends grow to be proactive and dynamic human beings. I have grown with them thanks to the amazing teaching staff I have had the opportunity to learn from. Bodwell has taught me that strength really does lie in diversity, and I know when my day comes to graduate I will be leaving to make a positive impact in the world.
Bodwell has given me an opportunity to study in a very multi-cultural environment. I have friends from all around the world, and have participated in a variety of sports and most importantly, I have improved my English. Bodwell has been the best experience in my life.

Bodwell High School is an international school that has small classes so that students are able to communicate with teachers easily. In addition, Bodwell has three semesters in one year, and each semester has four courses. Therefore, students are able to concentrate on only four subjects, and are able to graduate easier.
I will never forget Bodwell and all the friends that I have made from all over the world. I am going to miss those times with my classmates, teachers and basketball team-mates. It has been a wonderful experience.

I have been at Bodwell for four years, and I have seen many improvements – the house system, the cafeteria food, the classrooms, the gym equipment, the sports opportunities, and all of the school events. We have very high quality teachers, and I enjoy the students from many different cultures.
Bodwell is so different from my home city, where people are mostly the same. I like the different cultures, and am learning languages through my conversations with friends from around the world.
What do I appreciate the most about Bodwell? The good teachers, the friends from everywhere, the beautiful environment, meals in the cafeteria, the clubs, the dances, the parties – and the good principal!
This is a great place to meet people from different cultures, and to get to know about cultures other than your own.
Bodwell is stricter about what public schools should be strict on, like attendance and uniform. It is preparing us for the real world. The education standard is more challenging than what I am used to. I do not like things to be too easy-I like to learn new things. I like making friends from every country in the world-and I am learning new languages, too. My Spanish is coming along very fast.
Bodwell provides lots of structure, but also treats us like people. I feel respect from every teacher and administrator. We learn a lot more in our classes, compared with other schools I have attended. Our classes are longer, which is much better than short periods when nothing much gets done. I love learning about different cultures. There are people here from countries I always wanted to know more about.
Thank you very much for everything you did for me. Studying at Bodwell was the best experience of my life.

After a year and a half in Bodwell, Eric has great improvement in his English. The support, training and encourgaement provided by both teachers and dorm staff make Eric becomes more independent and confident in dealing with his personal and social affairs. We especially appreciate the opportunities for Eric to develop his spirit for social service. We are truly thankful to Bodwell.
Three years ago I came to Canada with my two children to inquire about what was best for their education. My daughter joined Bodwell after completing grade 10 in Korea and my son joined Bodwell after completing grade 8. We chose Bodwell High School because Bodwell was a smaller international school where both of my kids could attend the same school where they would not feel threatened and there was a Korean counsellor with whom we could talk in our language. The school really helped us a lot. The trimester system allows my kids to finish high school early and to upgrade any courses if they desire. My daughter is now attending Simon Fraser University and my son is in grade 11. I am pleased to share that both my children are now happy and confident in making friends due to their time and preparation at Bodwell.
My son has been in Bodwell High School for three years now. His stay has been a very good experience for him. He has been exposed to students from different countries and cultures which has given him a broad view of how other people live and think. The teachers are very supportive and “adolescent friendly”. They are not only mentors, but also friends who inspire their students to do their best. The homestay program has been excellent training for living independently with supervision. My son’s host family has been a positive influence on him and has been his home away from home.
As a parent, I was very worried when I first decided to send Sylvia to Bodwell after her graduation from junior high in Taiwan. However, ever since she was picked up from the Vancouver airport, she was well taken care of by Bodwell staff.
I consider the public schools in Vancouver to be too big with a lack of individual care. This was not suitable for my daughter who had to study away from her home country. Bodwell had smaller classes that suited my daughter by allowing her ample attention from her teachers. In case of need, my daughter could ask for help directly from her Chinese-speaking counsellor. This provided me with more peace of mind than if she had attended an all-English-speaking school.
I had ongoing contact with my daughter’s teachers, her counsellor, her classmates, the principal and even other parents, which deepened my positive feelings toward the school. My daughter is polite, lovable and self-disciplined. I am thankful and satisfied that Bodwell was a part of her life.
