Canada Day Poster Challenge. Every year the federal government challenges youth to put their creative talents together to create a poster that that might be displayed all over the country during Canada Day festivities. Vicki Yi created this beautiful design using pencil crayons.

Human Figure Oil Painting. Advanced Placement Art student Vivien Ma created this large scale oil painting by using large sweeping brushwork and dark 'moody' colours. A very impressionistic piece resulted! > Ms. Walsh

No. 2 Pencil Bottle. The design challenge for this piece was to take an ordinary item (in this case a plastic bottle) and make it look to be made only with No. 2 pencils. Nick Ma did a great job with colour and detail here! > Ms. Walsh

No. 2 Pencil Toilet. Amy Liao took a more humorous angle on the No. 2 Pencil Project and created a toilet made only of pencils! It is apparent that Amy put a great deal of effort into detailing this piece.

Urban Landscape at Night. Carmen Clouthier did a wonderful job of creating an impressionistic scene of a city at night in acrylic paints. The colour and loose brushwork are very successful!

Malaspina Printmakers Society Field Trip. During the Fall semester Advanced Placement Art students Ko Yoshida, Cyrus Wu, and Vivien Ma partook in a unique art-making experience at the Malaspina Printmaker's Society at Granville Island in Vancouver, B.C. They created a small edition of etchings in a professional artist environment and were quite successful!

Footprints Artist Residency Project. During the Winter semester several Grade 11 and 12 students had the rare opportunity to work with a professional artist and collaborate on a group sculptural installation project. In conjunction with Artstarts and professional artist Janet Wang, these senior art students worked diligently and co-operatively together to create a very thought-provoking work centred around the environmental theme of 'Footprints', i.e., the impact human beings have on the planet.
