Bodwell Arts Review 2007
|
Welcome to the 2007 Bodwell High School Arts Review.
At Bodwell High School students are given the chance to participate in a wide variety of activities. These opportunities help Bodwellians to become well-rounded citizens and contributors to the multiple dimensions of life. Accordingly, involvement in artistic endeavours is encouraged, to support students as they work toward this objective. James Whistler (the artist who painted 'Whistler's Mother') had much to tell us about the nature of art:
"Art happens - no hovel is safe from it, no Prince may depend on it, the vastest intelligence cannot bring it about, and puny efforts to make it universal end in quaint comedy, and coarse farce".
James McNeill Whistler, The Gentle Art of Making Enemies
The student work presented here is representative of the creativity and passion of Bodwell students.
The Arts Review Committee (Ms. Walsh, Ms. Carson, Ms. Brown, and Mr. R. Smith) wish to acknowledge and commend the effort of the students whose work is presented here.
Members of the Bodwell High School Educator Team are thanked for their help in identifying examples of notable student artistic expression!
