Music students were very busy over the Winter and Summer semesters. A trip to Victoria in March for the University of Victoria Band Festival yielded high results, with all adjudicators giving comments of 'Excellent' or 'Superior' to the Bodwell performers.
In July music students went on a three-day 'Band Camp' with students receiving eleven hours of instruction from six professional musicians. Five of these were members of the Victoria Symphony Orchestra and one was a professor from the music faculty at the University of Victoria. On the third day of the camp these wonderful musicians performed with the students at an outdoor concert in Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, B.C. There was also some time for a fishing excursion, for a trip to the Parliament Buildings, beaches, museums, and for a visit to downtown Victoria.
