Your home away from home

Living in homestay ensures a comfortable family atmosphere with ample opportunity to experience local customs and practices. Students also improve their English speaking and comprehension skills at a faster rate than students who live in non-English speaking environments.

The Homestay Coordinator carefully screens prospective host families. The proximity of the house to the school, the household environment and the attitude and personality of the family are considered. The families must provide each student with a private room, three meals a day and be willing to include the student in the family's activities.

If the student is under the age of 16, the host family will send monthly reports to parents. Although the host families may be of different ethnic backgrounds, they all speak English fluently. Only one or two students are usually hosted at a time.

Patrice Mitchell
Homestay Coordinator

“It is essential for our students to feel happy, safe and comfortable in their homestay. As Homestay Coordinator, I work closely with students and host families to find the perfect match.”
