North Vancouver offers outdoor activities throughout the year

Students at Bodwell have easy access to numerous national and provincial parks for outdoor education and nature study. Examples include the Maple Wood Conservation Area, which is a 35-hectare of birds and wildlife habitat, the Seymour River Salmon Hatchery, and the Lynn Canyon Park, which offers 250 hectares of west coast rain forest with scenic canyons, pools, and creeks.

In the winter, we drive 20 minutes to Cypress Mountain, Mount Seymour, or Grouse Mountain for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. All year round, students can hike, bike, camp, fish, swim, and sail in the numerous national and provincial parks, lakes, beaches, and water inlets.

Educational trips are designed to supplement classroom-learning objectives and allow students an opportunity to see more of Canada. The tours are considered a part of the curriculum and are organized so that each grade will participate in at least one trip during a calendar year.
