Education for Success in Tomorrow's World

Message from the Principal

Bodwell High School provides a culturally-diverse environment for students from around the globe. Just as Canada can be called “the global village in one country,” we can say that Bodwell is a “global village in one school.” We have within our walls young people from 35 different countries.

As international, religious, and cultural conflict continues around the world, Bodwell has a chance to show that multiculturalism really does work. We have a chance to show that different cultural, language, and religious groups can live together in close quarters, can treat each other with respect and understanding, can be friends and partners with each other, and can resolve conflicts in peaceful, democratic ways. Furthermore, we have a chance to show that, far from being a weakness that causes disunity, having a diversity of cultures is really a strength, because it broadens our understanding and perspective, and enriches all of us.

Our motto is STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY. That is what Bodwell stands for. That is what Canada stands for. That is what we are all about as a school. That’s what we are all about as a country.

These values are actively promoted through our House System, with houses named after people who taught and embodied them in their personal lives: Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and the father of multiculturalism in Canada, Pierre Trudeau.

They are also promoted through our diverse, well-rounded programs, and by our dedicated staff.

Welcome to Bodwell High School.

Message from the Director of Admissions

Canada is a world-renowned place to live and study. Through my experience in social work and counselling, I have helped to develop a supportive environment of learning. Our mission at Bodwell is to enable every student to develop to his or her full potential. We support this mission by having a dedicated and caring staff that is available to both the students and their parents. Students from Canada and over twenty-five different countries enjoy and benefit from the harmonious multi-cultural environment of Bodwell and Canada.

Cathy Lee, B.S.Sc., M.S.W.
