As international, religious, and
cultural conflict continues around the world, Bodwell has
a chance to show that multiculturalism really does work. We
have a chance to show that different cultural, language, and
religious groups can live together in close quarters, can
treat each other with respect and understanding, can be friends
and partners with each other, and can resolve conflicts in
peaceful, democratic ways. Furthermore, we have a chance to
show that, far from being a weakness that causes disunity,
having a diversity of cultures is really a strength, because
it broadens our understanding and perspective, and enriches
all of us.
Our motto is STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY. That
is what Bodwell stands for. That is what Canada stands for.
That is what we are all about as a school. That’s what
we are all about as a country.
These values are actively promoted through our House System,
with houses named after people who taught and embodied them
in their personal lives: Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin
Luther King, and the father of multiculturalism in Canada,
Pierre Trudeau.
They are also promoted through our diverse, well-rounded
programs, and by our dedicated staff.
Welcome to Bodwell High School.
