Update on Donations given...

On September 20th 2007, the 'Rafiki Gifts' contributed by Bodwell students were distributed to Karima Secondary School Students.

Presenting the gifts was Ken Mungai, CTC representative. In the photo at the left, Mr. Osero - Principal of Maai Mahiu Secondary, Ms. Mali Bain, Mr. Francis Theuri, Rafiki Link Coordinator.

In the photo from the left you can see Mr. Francis Theuri, Rafiki Link Coordinator for Karima Secondary; and Paul Mwaniki, a member of PCYi.

The money that students donated - approximately $60 CAD total - was enough to buy:
- One football (plus we also donated 1 basketball from Mr. Burnett)
- 2 school uniform sweaters
- 20 pairs of socks (10 boys, 10 girls)
- 1 log book (a book full of tables for sin, cos, log, etc - used when scientific calculators are not available)
- One ball-point pen for each student in the school.

Also at Karima, there is a boys' football (soccer) team which has named itself 'Vancouver Boys' in honour of the connection with Bodwell. Below is the team in their net:
