A Brief Introduction

WHO:        Canadian students, teachers, administration, and staff 

WHEN:     Beginning fall semester 2007!

WHY:           ü        Connect personally with Kenyan students, teachers,  
          administration, and staff

ü        Exchange curricular & extracurricular activities

ü        Be part of making a concrete, positive change in the lives of students in Kenya and in Canada

WHAT:

1.    JAMBO!
Introduction to counterparts through photos, letters, etc. See school websites (Longonot, Karima, Maai Mahiu) and check mentor class linkages to learn more about the schools.

2.    TUENDE
Each school will send photographs, video, and documentation of the fun they have in clubs, sports, dorm life, and more.

3.   PAMOJA
Classrooms will exchange projects, experiments, and assignments where curriculum overlaps between Kenya and Canada.

 “Jambo – tuende pamoja” means, in Kiswahili, “Hi there! Let’s go together". The slogan represents the spirit of partnership, collaboration, and friendship between schools. Sharing similar objectives and vision, we can go far...!


This is a pilot project and thus an experiment in many ways. The success of each of the above components will depend upon the ideas and initiative of students, staff, and community members both in Canada and in Kenya.
