For Students

The Urafiki Link is a connection between YOU - a student at Bodwell High School - and students in Kenya.

There are three parts to building this connection...

1. JAMBO Introductions

  1. Complete a ‘student profile’ - complete in your mentor class and give to Mr. Burnett.
  2. Read the profiles of students in your partner classroom so that you can get to know them! Not sure who your partner class is? Check here.
  3. Learn about the schools by clicking on the 'Urafiki Schools' links to the left.
  4. Write a letter to a student, send funny video, give a gift… it’s up to YOU to decide what you want to send to your partner class.

2. TUENDE Extracurricular

  1. Take digital photos/video of activities; send the files to malibain at yahoo.ca
  2. Check out photos and video on this website, or ask your teacher to receive videos on your behalf.
  3. Enjoy exchanging ideas; consider having your group fundraise to provide something for groups in Kenya.

3. PAMOJA During class

  1. In some of your classes, your teacher will take digital photos/video of projects, activities, experiments, etc. Remind your teacher to record particularly interesting lessons, or ask permission to record the work yourself!
  2. In some classes, your teacher will show photos/video from Kenyan schools studying similar subjects. Look here
