For
Teachers/Staff/Admin
The
Urafiki Link seeks to connect YOU - as a teacher/staff of Bodwell - with
teachers, staff, and classrooms in Kenya. Whether or not you are able to
visit the schools here, you can begin by enriching your classroom
experience in three main ways:
1.
JAMBO
Introductions
-
Mentor
teachers: see student overview to support students, and see
Class Linkages to check for your
'partner' class in Kenya.
- Complete
a ‘staff profile’ emailed to your staff email; send to malibain at
yahoo.ca
-
Read the staff profiles from Kenyan staff at
Maai Mahiu Secondary,
Longonot
Secondary,
Karima Secondary.
Write
messages, send ideas, work together
as desired!
-
Encourage your class to send
SOMETHING to your class in Kenya - a photograph, video, gift
(financial or otherwise)... See here
for donation ideas.
2.
TUENDE
Extracurricular
-
Check out the ideas already begun
-
Take
digital photos/video of activities; send the files to malibain at
yahoo.ca
-
Check out
photos from parallel groups in Kenya on this
this page, or email
malibain at yahoo.ca to ask for videos emailed directly to you.
- Enjoy!
3.
PAMOJA
During class
-
Check out the ideas already begun
-
Send your
ideas to malibain at yahoo.ca
- Take
digital photos/video of projects, activities, experiments, etc; or,
send egs of ‘best student work’ in Powerpoint or Word.
-
Receive
photos/video/files from Kenya to show in your class. Use the clips
to reinforce or expand upon topics covered in class.
Thank
You for taking the time to read the above. Hopefully you both enjoy and
benefit from a connection with schools in Kenya.
