LOGISTICS Summary: A group of Canadian teachers volunteer their time to work with teachers of Naivasha district to improve teaching practices and build lasting connections with Kenyan schools. Proposed Dates: August 4 – 29, 2008 (TBC) First week of August – Observations/networking in Naivasha District schools Second week of August – Workshop prep time, some travel Third week of August – Workshops in Naivasha District Fourth week of August – Workshops in Naivasha District Location: Naivasha District, about 50 minutes west of Nairobi Expected number of Canadian teachers: 4-8

50+ About the Organisers Teachers Without Borders - Canada is a non-profit, non-denominational NGO devoted to closing the education divide through teacher professional development and community education. Our organization focuses on the building of teacher leaders. We work primarily, but not exclusively, in developing countries, in order to build self-reliance, health, and capacity. TWB – Canada will take responsibility for recruitment, fundraising, and all organisation on the Canadian side of this journey. CTC (Comfort the Children) International is a non-profit, non-demoninational NGO Our mission is to help provide hope and a future for the less fortunate. We share in the lives of local communities through acts of love and labor. Our education programs, building projects, medical/healthcare assistance, outreach ministries, and AIDS awareness create a better tomorrow. CTC International will be organising on-the-ground logistics, making contacts in Kenya, and facilitating ongoing connections.
