What is BEAT?
MISSION
To bring about a significant, measurable shift toward those environmentally-sound and sustainable practices which enrich the quality of learning and living of Bodwell's students. Brought about by raising awareness among Bodwell's students and staff, by decreasing barriers to new behaviours, and increasing perceived benefits of these changes.
Specifically focussing on:
I. The School:

reducing the environmental footprint of the school itself

increasing sustainability of daily operations and infrastructure
II. The Staff:

raising awareness among staff about our goals and green ideals

mobilizing staff to be both instruments of immediate and long-term change as well as conveyers of green ideology to students, families, friends, etc.
III. The Students

increasing student awareness and environmental literacy

mobilizing students to be both instruments of change and conveyers of green ideology to their home countries, parents, friends, etc.
IV. The Community

taking an active role as a school in an effort to increase sustainability in the community

set a visible example for local organizations and other schools to follow in becoming more "green"
