English Classes

We Offer a Specialized, Fun-filled, but Challenging English Program

Students take an English placement test on the first Monday of the program in order to determine which level is best suited for them, from beginners to advanced. Classes are organized by age and English level. We also ensure that each class has a mixed balance of students from different countries.

Students spend an average of 15 hours in English class each week. Language skills covered include grammar, reading, writing, vocabulary, and conversation. One of our main focuses is oral language acquisition. Teachers are all trained to create a positive and fun learning environment through the use of games, drama, singing and a great variety of activities.

Teachers of the Juniors and Children classes use a thematic approach, which ties each week's lessons and projects to the off-campus outings. For example, during Science Week, classes will visit Science World and the Pacific Space Center.

Teen classes use the New Interchange and Passages textbooks, published by Cambridge University Press. These texts supplement the uniquely Canadian instruction style of our teachers.

Canadian students are invited to join our program to enhance the English learning environment by providing international students with the opportunity to communicate with a native English speaker.
