"My classroom makes me feel comfortable. The view is beautiful. Yes, it gives me many chances to talk to the others in English." (Andy Wong, Hong Kong)

Celebrate Diversity - A Tradition Since 1992

Bodwell's UBC Summer Programs in Vancouver

"We are active citizens and
We are diverse, we are strong
We work for a world of peace where
Love abounds and hate is gone…"

Canada welcomes multi-ethnic immigrants and thrives in cross-cultural appreciation and acceptance. Generations of people have come from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and almost every other part of the world. Our government commits to and supports peace and humanistic efforts around the globe. Our society aims to foster compassion, cooperation and justice among communities and countries.

At Bodwell, the goals and values for our student community are reflective of those in our bigger society. Bodwell’s motto is “Strength in Diversity” – diversity of languages, cultures, histories, traditions, skills and abilities, aspirations, and ways of life. All of them stimulate the sharing and growth of knowledge, broaden experience and empathy, and ignite inspiration and creativity.

Through classroom activities and numerous games and events involving cooperation and sportsmanship, students coming to our summer programs develop self-confidence and a sense of responsibility. Throughout their stay, they learn through fun, and grow in trust and respect towards friends and teachers. We strive for our students to build friendships with others from around the world and to better prepare themselves as global citizens and excel in future studies or work with a global perspective.
