Academy Admission

Bodwell’s Real World Academies are selective, small-cohort programs designed to ensure high-quality learning, personalized mentorship, and strong university-preparation outcomes.
 
Admission is open to both new and returning students who demonstrate strong interest and potential in their chosen field.
 
All applicants are required to complete a supplemental application consisting of a 3–6 piece visual portfolio demonstrating interest or early skill in the academy’s subject area.

 

Academic & English requirements:

  • Minimum current academic average of 75%, and no less than 75% in recent related courses.
  • Grade 10:  Duolingo 85+, IELTS 5.0+, or CEFR B1
  • Grade 11-12:  Duolingo 105+, IELTS 6.0+, CEFR B2

Academy Fees

Academy participation fee: $1200 per semester.

 

Academy fees allow access to special academy equipment, facilities, staffing, additional programming, and local field experiences, beyond those offered to all students as part of regular tuition fees.

 

HOW TO APPLY TO BODWELL

Every Semester, those admitted to a Real World Academy engage in:

  • 4 Academic Courses (BC, IB, AP)
  • 1 exclusive Academy Block during the school day
  • Afterschool workshops: targeting skill-building
  • A competitive or performance academy team
  • Final showcases: Film Festival, Tech Fair, and external competitions

3-Year Academy Structure

Students are encouraged to start and continue in their academy from Grade 10 to 12, but also have an option to apply to join in 11 or 12. Students completing Grades 11 and 12 will graduate with a Real World Academy Completion or Mastery Certificate, pending their performance.
