Class of 1995

Before attending Bodwell, I was studying at Prince of Wales Secondary. As I was over 18, I had to switch to adult learning centers or private high schools to complete my Dogwood diploma. I still remember the day I visited Bodwell, which happened to be the same day I registered at South Hill Adult Learning Center. On my way back home, I spotted the 12th Avenue campus and decided to stop by the reception and talk to a counselor about my situation.

My first impression was that everyone was friendly and welcoming. As I stepped out of the small meeting room, I bumped into Mr. Graham, who had taught me Accounting 11 at night school. This encounter boosted my confidence to study at Bodwell. At that time, Bodwell was a small community school compared to other public high schools, but all the teachers were passionate about teaching us. My classmates and I got along well, and I felt lucky to be a part of the Bodwell family.

Despite limited resources, we had many opportunities to build relationships through activities such as ski trips, dragon boat teams, and playing basketball with Mr. Graham, among others. These are cherished memories. I am confident that every Bodwell student was nurtured by the dedicated staff to transition smoothly from high school to post-secondary education.
