Onsite Boarding

Your Hall. Your Community.

Bodwell students find a welcoming environment built to take care of their needs, while fostering the skills needed for success in later life. Through the efforts of our youth advisors, we focus on youth development, with a program focused on boarders’ self-improvement.

Our boarding experience focuses on active learning beyond the classroom. We keep students engaged through out-of-school activities, and provide a structured routine that helps students develop strong habits for sustainable lifelong success.

Bodwell's Boarding Team

Boarding students belong to one of 11 halls. Every hall is a tight-knit community that shares common space, support, and weekly activities. Each Bodwell Hall has around 45 boarders, managed by 2 advisors. Our staff work to ensure that every student finds belonging, engagement, and inclusion through their Hall community.

Each of our advisors are responsible adults who possess university degrees and diverse professional backgrounds such as teaching, social work, and counselling. Most advisors have experience living abroad and easily empathize with our boarders’ feelings and perspectives to provide relevant and constructive support.

Developing Life Skills

Our boarding advisors work closely with students throughout their journey at Bodwell, to develop a skillset for success. This is focused on three key areas:

  • Self-care
  • Leadership
  • Interpersonal Skills

Tutoring and Study Support

Study time is required for all students in the evening to complete homework and prepare for the next school day. Tutors are consistently available to offer individual help to students.

An additional hour focuses on more intense support in focus subjects like English, mathematics, and sciences.

Daily Schedule

Through a structured weekly routine, Bodwell students build strong life habits while accounting for regular support in all aspects of their life at the school.
Regular recreational activities help build personal wellness while students explore the city and nature around North Vancouver.
