Bodwell students live in one of the most exciting regions in Canada, where ocean meets mountains and every weekend brings a new adventure. Whether you join a school-led boarding trip or plan your own outing with friends, there’s always something incredible to see and do.
Bodwell is grateful to be located on the traditional territories of the Coast Salish indigenous peoples, including the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. Students have the opportunities to better understand our indigenous neighbours living in communities near the school, and to be a part of Canada's reconciliation in action.
North Vancouver: Nature at Your Doorstep
North Vancouver is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, with mountains, forests, and waterways just minutes from campus.
- Grouse Mountain – Go skiing or snowboarding in winter, hiking and ziplining in summer.
- Capilano Suspension Bridge – Walk among the treetops and enjoy the lights during Canyon Lights season.
- Lynn Canyon Park – Explore trails, waterfalls, and the free suspension bridge.
- Deep Cove – Try kayaking or paddleboarding, then reward yourself with a famous Honey’s doughnut.
- Lonsdale Quay Market – Grab lunch, go shopping, and enjoy the waterfront views.
West Vancouver: Ocean Views & Coastal Walks
West Vancouver is perfect for relaxing by the sea, exploring scenic trails, or enjoying local shops and cafés.
- Ambleside Park & Beach – Jog, cycle, or enjoy a picnic with mountain views.
- Whytecliff Park – Spot sea lions or take a dip in the clear water during summer.

The Sea to Sky Corridor offers breathtaking landscapes and adventure activities for the whole day or weekend trips.
- Sea to Sky Gondola (Squamish) – Ride up for stunning views and walk the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge
- Shannon Falls – A short hike to a towering waterfall.
- Stawamus Chief – Challenging hike with panoramic vistas.
- Whistler Village – Ski, bike, zipline, or explore shops and cafés.
- Train Wreck Trail (Whistler) – Hidden forest trail with graffiti-covered train cars.

Boarding Activities During Weekends, Holidays, and Breaks
Our boarding program organizes regular excursions and activities. Students can also explore independently, using local transit or joining small group outings with friends. Every weekend is a chance to experience something new, whether going on a hike, discovering hidden cafés, or shopping the city’s best spots.
