Bodwell Aquatics Opens Its Pool to the Community for Swim Classes

For years, Bodwell High School’s on-campus pool in North Vancouver has been used exclusively by our day and boarding students to develop confidence, discipline, and life-long swimming skills during PE and after their school day.
Starting in March 2026, we’re opening our private, indoor pool to families across the North Shore and Greater Vancouver. Bodwell Aquatics will offer community programming, starting with group and private Swim for Life swimming lessons for kids ages 7-17.

A Structured Pathway for Swimmers
Bodwell Aquatics’ Swim For Life Program offers three small-group training levels designed to support swimmers as they advance through the Swim for Life framework.

1. Foundation Group (Levels 4–5)
Swimmers focus on building strong fundamentals in front crawl and back crawl while increasing comfort in deeper water. Swimmers work on breathing coordination, body positioning, kicking efficiency, and short-distance endurance.
2. Development Group (Levels 6–7)
Swimmers refine stroke technique and improve endurance while being introduced to breaststroke fundamentals. Structured drills and training sets help swimmers build stamina while improving efficiency and consistency.
3. Advanced Group (Levels 8–9)
Swimmers focus on advanced stroke refinement, endurance development, and performance skills across front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke. Swimmers may begin structured training sets designed to improve pacing, aerobic capacity, and technical precision.
The Future of Bodwell Aquatics, Swim Lessons
As this program grows, we will be creating opportunities for swimmers to progress into advanced recreational and pre-competitive pathways. We will also be offering lifesaving certification programs. Stay tuned.
